(gelatin silver print)

Polar time: all the shoveling we did, clearing the boat of snow and doing it again and again. This absurd task of shoveling the Arctic wasn't lost on myself and the doctor, so on our breaks from shoveling we'd re-stage the days events for the camera.

(sculpture, white bronze)

A fragment of the ship’s door jamb, cast in brass, bears the mark of forceful entries to and from the boat. The deep groove in the door’s metal frame traces the movement and daily routines from inside the hull to the polar landscape.
